We're taking a trip down memory lane to my very first concert: Bow Wow. My mom was strict, so this was the only hip-hop allowed in the house. The venue might have been half-empty, but to me? It was Madison Square Garden.

The topic of first concerts we saw came up today and I was floored to realize that *today* is the thirtieth anniversary of my seeing Pink Floyd in concert at the Big O (Olympic stadium) in Montreal.
What a band to see live. And really set expectations way too high for other concerts.
What was your first concert?
Pop Will Eat Itself at Reading University at some point in 1994, very much unlike what I was expecting from a gig, and my ears were ringing for got knows how long. I do have tinnitus, I wonder if it was from that gig...
@Geri Dpending on your definition of #firstconcert (I'm not including the myriad bands who were on in my students' union while I was also there drinking), I'm defining it as going to see Symphony Of The Goddesses- the London Philharmonic playing music from the Zelda games- which I'm told was on May 23, 2013.
I bought a ticket in the cheap seats, then decided that since I was never going to get an opportunity like this again, bought a second, better seat.
I went to see it again in 2015.
I saw Ian Dury and the Blockheads
I was 9, so sometime late in 1982
It was kind of a bucket list thing 😎
