Finally finished "Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark", a nice little FF Tactics clone with lovingly crafted art. Someone peeking over my shoulder saying "ooh, that looks pretty, what is that?" happened quite a few times.
I really didn't rush it either, played it over the course of one and a half year. I think it's safe to say that I delayed the end game on purpose, because now that I am done with it, even NG+ is not that enticing anymore, since I have "finished" it. And my looming pile of shame is throwing a big shadow over me, whenever I replay something I already finished recently. β

I will probably start a NG+ anyway an be it just to get my fix of Fell Seal every now and then. It's great for a 20-Minute-Break from things.
There a few things that aren't that great about Fell Seal. The music is nice but can get repitive fast, which is bad for a game you spend a lot of time grinding in. The story is nothing to write home about, too. Not bad per se, but a bit predictable and also very obviously just there to give the whole gameplay a nice frame. Still, the characters are likeable and some of the dialogues even manage to be funny, even if it doesn't draw you in in any meaningful way. It does have at least two very different story endings (managed to get the "bad" one by accident, bc the boss died too quickly in the fire of my over-levelled heroes β
β )
Gameplay is where it truly shines. There are so, so, many possible ability combinations for your troupe, secret classes to discover and items to find and craft. It's turn-based fights and maps are also interesting and varied and some of the challenges really deserve the name. It took a lot of inspiration from FF Tactics, obvs, sometimes blatantly obvious so. But it's a good thing. It really got the formula and made something very enjoyable out of it.
If they ever decide to make a sequel, I'd be there for it (story kinda leaves plenty room for that too).
