“Larry! Come over here,” the round man behind the front desk waves over to another round man.
“Ay, Xal. This man bothering you?” The second round man, Larry, walks over and looks you up and down.
“This is an exigent situation, sirs,” I try to explain. “I need your help.”
“Listen, listen,” says Larry as he shoos Xal away from the monitor. “I don’t care whether you’re a gent or not. We need 10k tokens to process the request to Mars.”

Guided by the scouts, Kane viewed the source of Earth’s downfall. Its slowly rising thrum foretold the exigent threat of magical beasts it would unleash every dawn. The Tashali had thought the Astral Rifts were humanity’s salvation, but this one was why they had needed saving. Most connections from Earth to Tashal had collapsed, however, implying their mortality. Kane usually harvested anomalies, but breaking one should still be in his wheelhouse.
