For those of you who don't like "financialization of commodities" there is now around 7-8 months of global uranium demand sitting in ETFs now which is fairly helpful at times like these. This excludes national and utility stockpiles and is the equivalent of 23bn barrels of oil storage. #EnergySky
I must compliment the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, because yes, this came from that lab, for this model development in terms of promoting investment into agrivoltaics. I recommend everyone with interest in the field to read this description of the agronomic considerations. 🧵 #EnergySky
There' not many people on Bluesky who highlight Carbon Dioxide Removal. This climate scientist likes good news though. Phoenix Energy is building 50 BECCS plants over the next 10 years. Over that decade, they will have removed 2.8M MTCO2e or more. #EnergySky www.phoenixenergy.net/project-sites

This is really cool, literally. Scientists have made bricks with air pockets that fill with phase change material (PCM) and in order to reduce risk of melted PCM leaking have incorporated it into biochar. We all need to help technology like this scale quicker. #EnergySky

Bluesky, prove that renewables aren't eugenics, and show me a black woman in Australia, saying the same thing. Have yet to see one. #renewables #Australia #energysky #Eugenics #slowviolence

The fossil fuel industry is at a turning point. The Republicans' latest Middle Eastern war will shift people to cleantech like EVs, PV, batteries and heat pumps so much more quickly that we should start to see major fossil fuel demand destruction soon. #EnergySky www.energyintel.com/0000019d-2a5...

Industry's Brave Face Belies Existential Risks

The oil and gas sector has faced its share of crises, but there is a palpable fear this time of saying the quiet part out loud: The current war presents existential risks.

Everyone wants to get rid of gasoline taxes but this is a great time to implement taxes that go to zero in a spike but are higher in more subdued markets. Encourages longer term decarbonisation and electrification and reduces consumer / CPI volatility. #EnergySky
