One of these #Congolese #ambassadors to #Rome was Antonio Emanuel Ne Vunda.
We do not know much about him â a fate he shares with most #emdiplomats. He was a close relative to the Congolese king. In 1604 he left #Congo and set off for Rome where he arrived in 1608. Unfortunately, he died only two days after his arrival of illness. (6/6)

Identifying #emdiplomacysFaces is sometimes tricky, identifying their family members even more so. Perhaps some of you can help in this case regarding the wife of Joachim de Wicquefort.

Ok #histodons nerdy question: researching the diplomat Joachim de Wicquefort, whose wife is variously named as Anna Bosschaert, Anna de Leu de Wilhem or Anna van Erp, depending on who you ask. Anyone knows who she really was?
Died #OTD 1721, James Stanhope, earl of Stanhope. The soldier, diplomat and politician was a key figure in George I's cabinet. Dr Stuart Handley looked at Stanhope's career on the #HistParl blog. Read it here đ http://ow.ly/wCuG50Ds7xg @[email protected] #18thCentury #GeorgeI #Parliament
