After installing multiple community versions of #Windows XP with no luck, then the HDD started giving me partition issues.
Thankfully I had an old Hiren's Boot CD from 15+ years ago. It saved the day as always & I was able to get the HDD situated.
I then installed an original #WinXP SP3 iso & installed the Asus drivers afterwards & it worked like magic.
It seriously took ALL day but I'm happy to see this #Asus #EeePC working like new. Even the battery is still good. 👍
One memory I would have liked to have kept suppressed is just how bad driver issues used to be in #Windows. 😆
Driver discovery and installation is one area where Windows really improved over the years.
I remember being impressed with just how good it was upgrading from XP to 7, but Win 10 was near perfection in my use case.
I bring this up because I was trying to revive an old #Asus #EeePC this week and it was a challenge.

Ça tourne très bien. L'ajout de RAM n'était pas forcément nécessaire. Mais navigation Web impossible (enfin, si, mais le processeur tourne à fond et l'affichage de page est interminable). Peut être tester avec #midoribrowser ?

Zwei Notebook mit 32-bit CPU tummeln sich, historisch bedingt, noch in meinem Fundus.
Ein 0815 von #Toshiba und ein #EeePC von #Asus. Die Ausstattung ist entsprechend 'zeitgemäß'.
#Linuxgaming damit und darauf testen erscheint selbst mir seit langem aussichtslos.
Das #Betriebssystem "Haiku" basiert auf #BeOS und fußt noch auf der 32-bit Architektur.
