Today is the day of the Easter Witches (påskkärringar) in Sweden. While the celebration, which consists of children dressing up as "witches", with skirts, around and headscarfs tied under the chin, these days can be done other days during Easter, it was originally on Easter Eve. The tradition has it's origins in the county of Västergötland, in South West Sweden, in the early 19th century, but in the 20th century it spread to the rest of Sweden. #swedishtraditon #eastertraditions #påskkärring
