*edited to add: just found the interview with the "Chasing Your Tail" guy - Matt Edmondson - who was asked to make a tool to help people recognise when they were being surveilled. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cjXp3bBd2h8 I link to it here because the #privacyGuides guide above doesn't (I think) fully explain how much information your telephone's radios freely transmit about you. He's an OSINT instructor by trade, so he's able to articulate how that information can be exploited. Were I going to any sort of political event, it's the sort of thing I'd want to understand before hand. Maybe talk to people who have attended protests in spicy countries, &/or been on the receiving end of less-lethal weapons (CS gas, sonic, microwave, water cannon, etc). Ideally find a retired copper and get their advice too. Maybe even email your lawyer *before* going... I'd wager if one did this, then one would *really* appreciate the elegance of the 10 tips in the original poster. And maybe pick up some other hot tips along the way.
