Für mich ist die Entscheidung der #ICANN zu #dotORG eine Fehlentscheidung.
Der Verkauf hätte die Schienen zu einer exklusiven #dotNGO TLD legen können um nicht nur Planungssicherheit für NGOs zu schaffen, sondern auch den Endverbraucher eine unmissverständliche TLD für non profit organizations zu präsentieren.
.ORG ist eben mehr als nur gemeinnützig. Aber da war die Stimme weniger wieder lauter.
#ICANN halts sale of #dotorg registry, but questions linger. I mean, was it really necessary for all the backlash to finally realize that that halting the sale was "the right thing to do"?
