My pick this week for #Saturdoom is the new band from Italy; Aganoor. Their album Doomerism does what it says on the tin and delivers a proper modern yet old school take on the genre.
At times their sound invokes a true Black Sabbath sound whilst at other times moving towards a more Type-O-Negative sound whilst invoking the Peter Steele school of singing. I truly like this sound.
I came across most of the original source MIDI files for the original Doom and Doom II when going through the various official ports that have been made to various systems. One thing leads to another. After 3DO's, I felt like listening to Andrew Hulshult's arrangements.
Those versions are brilliant. I am considering buying 3DO's version of "Doom" just for the soundtrack (it's audio CD, which turned out to be the right choice).
