These cuts will: Slash cancer treatment and PTSD care contracts Lay off veterans and frontline VA workers Cut hospital safety and radiation monitoring services Push veterans into privatized, for-profit care that leaves them behind The only reason these cuts aren’t even worse is because VA employees fought back and forced the administration to back down from canceling 875 contracts, showing that public pressure still works. But let’s be clear, reducing the number of canceled contracts alone is not nearly enough to protect veterans’ services. The House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committees must immediately step in to block Trump’s disastrous cuts and protect the 9 million veterans who rely on VA healthcare.
