📣 The LJAD is launching its collection of conference proceedings in Epi-Revel this month, with the publication of the Proceedings of the conference held in memory of J. A. DieudonnĂ© (Nice, 1996) – Materials for the History of Mathematics in the 20th Century.

In January 1996, on the occasion of the inauguration of the new building of the Jean-Alexandre DieudonnĂ© Mathematics Laboratory, the University of Nice – Sophia Antipolis organized an exceptional conference devoted to the history of 20th-century mathematics. The event brought together, with the support of the French Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Advanced Scientific Studies, and the National Centre for Scientific Research, some of the most prominent figures in contemporary mathematics — including two Fields Medalists, Pierre Deligne and Jean-Pierre Serre.

đŸŽ„ These video archives constitute a living and irreplaceable testimony: that of mathematicians speaking, in their own voices, about the history they themselves helped to write.

The DATAZUR data workshop took part in a “tailor-made” training session at the ECOSEAS Laboratory (Ecology and Conservation Science for Sustainable Seas), dedicated to research data management. Many thanks to Cecile Sabourault for the invitation, and to the laboratory members for the high quality of the discussions.

🌊 The meeting also offered an opportunity to highlight marine ecology data specifically, and to present the national @recherchedatagouv ecosystem as well as the services provided by the EOSC EU NODE.

đŸ–„ïž It was an especially full day: that same morning, a training session for members of the UniversitĂ© CĂŽte d’Azur scientific community brought together nearly 35 faculty members and PhD candidates to work on drafting data management plans (DMPs).

On April 30, a session was held to present the services offered by the university libraries to the nine new associate professors who took up their positions at UniversitĂ© CĂŽte d’Azur in September. This was the first session of its kind, integrated into the dedicated training program for new faculty members.

Several presentations introduced the university libraries, highlighting in particular their documentary resources and associated services. Additional sessions focused on research support and open science, covering both publications and research data.

The event led to rich and engaging discussions, with participants showing strong interest, especially in researcher identifiers (IdHAL and ORCID), following a personalized diagnostic of their individual situation carried out prior to the session. There was also significant interest in the Epi-Revel diamond open access publishing platform, particularly for its potential to showcase conferences and workshops organized within their laboratories.

The 2025 edition of the proceedings of the Young Researchers’ Day of the Centre de la MĂ©diterranĂ©e Moderne et Contemporaine (CMMC) is now available on Epi-Revel.

epi-revel.univ-cotedazur.fr/collections/show/2040

It brings together a selection of contributions from the CMMC Young Researchers’ Day held in February 2025. It includes in-depth doctoral and postdoctoral research based on the presentations given during the event.

In line with previous editions, this third edition adopted a more structured organization into thematic panels, focusing in particular on the environment, circulation, and war. Three articles, drawn from these panels, make up this issue.

March was a highlight for the “Open Science Label” training sessions aimed at PhD candidates at UniversitĂ© CĂŽte d’Azur. The Research Support Services team notably contributed by presenting the challenges of open access publishing and its various models, with a focus on the gold model and transformative agreements (MIST21), by leading a workshop on depositing work in HAL (MIST17), and by providing guidance on managing researchers’ digital identities (MIST19).

In addition to these regular training sessions, two sessions in English were offered this year by Carolina Dias, a Brazilian PhD student currently on Erasmus exchange. She delivered a version of the open access training (MIST45) as well as a specific session on predatory journals (MIST44).

In total, more than 80 PhD candidates attended a training session this month.

Next month, the first training session on data management plans (MIST26) will begin as part of the Spring Data event.

The event took place on March 28, 2025, at Campus Valrose in Nice, under the theme “Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Care.”

The day brought together numerous participants and speakers for discussions on the challenges of artificial intelligence in healthcare. The conferences addressed AI in intensive care, its impact on pharmaceuticals, the foundations of generative AI in medicine, the moral dilemmas raised by tools such as ChatGPT, AI in education, as well as communication with synthetic patients.

The Bases, Corpus, Langage laboratory of UniversitĂ© CĂŽte d’Azur hosted the DATAZUR data workshop at MSHS Sud-Est during their general assembly.

They received a presentation of the range of services offered by the DATAZUR data workshop, as well as the resources and services deployed across the Recherche Data Gouv ecosystem.

It is very valuable for us to take part in laboratories where data culture is well established and long standing; we can draw inspiration from this to create new synergies with the ecosystem’s modules. Next step: entity DMP! 📝
