This #DemoFest release by Elective Affectations features just one track "Gretchen's Fire." Lyrics spoken over a repeating bass riff and single-note guitar lines that shift in and out of tempo with the rest of the song. I wanted to shoutout some of my #DemoFest faves. Such a cool DIY event for the Fedi! I like Cosmic Club’s demo. It’s straightforward garage pop with catchy melodies and double vocals, soften by a veil of seemingly lo-fi, analog warmth. I wonder how they recorded it. stoogeThere was so much good shit in that two hour broadcast, I’m kind of surprised I even made it in there. I am stoked to listen to it all because I’ve felt kind of stagnant and out-of-touch in terms of new music to listen to lately, I really needed this infusion right now. Anyway I feel a bit silly with my jangly alternative rock or whatever in the midst of all this exemplary ripping hardcore and forward-thinking noise, but if you want a change of pace here’s my little ode to death and heartbreak and estrangement, with guest vox by @bognymph and @uhhuhthem . I started learning how to do home recording for the first #demofest, and it’s really cool to do kind of a sequel to that, I feel like I’ve come a looong way since then.
