Just made aware #DavidRoach, the singer of #Junkyard, has left the building after a long, tough battle with cancer #RIP.

On their first couple releases, his band whose guitar flank had members of the Big Boys and Minor Threat draped in biker denim vests oozing dirty southern rock riffs, the package was topped with David's vicious vox layered over top. I only saw the early era band, live once opening for Soul Asylum, before they'd toured with more suitable bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and eventually ended up dropped by Geffen in the early 90s, as grunge pushed #metal bands off the charts.

They eventually reformed in the 21st century, and this time, I became reacquainted with the self released indie recordings of the rejuvenated lineup, restoring the raunchy and raw machine they'd abandoned. This new era of the band kept some of the core of the group together much longer, and less worried about pleasing any corporate rawk HQ. David, now a father, had found friendz and fans across the country, and got a chance to relive some of that youthful spirit, and play tour dates all over again...

Here's a link to his tribute #memorial page online where friends and fans can leave memories...
