‘Gradient’

Something captivated me in this landscape. The colours, moody and deep. The limbs stretched and reaching. The fog, heavy and pressing upon the earth. A world reduced to the immediate. Awareness up close…

Part of my Untamed exhibition. On show now at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery… subscribe to the mailing list to win a limited edition from the collection.

‘Fog’s Watch’

This beautiful moody scene, shot on Tasmania’s North West alpine wilderness region was such a moment in time. The world stood still for us in this moment and we wandered, unseen and unseeing through the fog.

Limited edition. On show at @wildernessgallery cradle mountain until the end of April. Available for sale on my website.

Moss. There are over 12,000 species of these small plants, and you typically see them growing in clusters, or mats, in wet, shaded areas of forests. They evolved around 400 million years ago, before the more modern angiosperms or gymnosperms, and although they are plants they don’t have vascular tissue, and don’t produce flowers or seeds. Ecologically, mosses play important roles in nutrient and water cycling within forest ecosystems, but are expected to experience decreases in abundance and geographic range due to climate change.
