I've just discovered the Sims Library of Poetry in Southwest Los Angeles, on Florence near Crenshaw. It's a low-to-moderate income African-American (and probably Latino by now) neighborhood. It's a very cool place: they have a great collection, the people who run it are friendly and they have readings and other good programs.
