OK, this is pretty flip'n cool 🤩 it's an actually useful application of machine learning*, made by specialists for a well-defined purpose - which is fine, but what makes it cool is open sourcing it 👍
It's like I've been saying; film is the perfect petri dish for these tech developments & it's showing us that genAI is pants & what matters is actual expertise + usefulness.

Die #CorridorCrew hat ihren revolutionären 'Greenscreen-Radierer' #CorridorKey durch Code-Beiträge der Community von 23 GiB VRAM auf nur 8 GiB VRAM geschrumpft (aber noch immer kein AMD -.- ). Grafische UI kam dazu, Bluescreens sollen auch bald unterstützt werden. Außerdem gehen sie eine öffentliche Community-Plattform zum Teilen der eigenen optimierten Green-/Bluescreen-Modelle an – die Lizenz soll immer kommerzielle Projekte erlauben, aber keinen Verkauf des Modells.

Major appreciation to Niko et al. at Corridor Digital for his work on this. When I saw the video in my feed I was worried it was going to be some "I wrapped a bunch of image generation AI services" type of tool, but instead it's a specifically trained neural network seemingly capable of very good chroma key extraction.
A huge win for the #filmmaking and #opensource communities. Having done some rough chroma key work recently, this would be a huge help.
