@rachael @jonobie who will enforce toilet accommodation law, the SPD? Not having public access to sanitary elimination and hand washing is a #publichealth nightmare. Along with #corporatepharm control of vaccine distribution, privatized “comfort stations” are #businessfail In Ballard PCC has those “real estate agent” locks, privatizing space within private space and definitely discriminatory toward unhoused, though it’s really city and county responsibility.
@kiwi I try to remind us that we did have some snippets of #socializedmedicine within living memory, and it’s worth reactivating them before people with institutional experience administering them are gone. Also, I’m glad that #onlineappointments are available, since few practitioners travel to see patients anymore.

@kiwi volunteer off duty nurses and students, all “essential” workers. My husband works in medicine: King County used to send staff around to clinical sites like his with flu vax, but budgeting now goes to recruit law enforcement and to cruise ship tourists who actually bring in disease (anecdotal source: Port of Seattle worker). Not sure about rural access; in Puget Sound, #corporatepharm, including Safeway, had them immediately, yet ours hadn’t seen them. We made appointments for flu and RSV for tomorrow, hope Covid booster is in then, as they’ll include it, too. In the 90’s, King county had clinics for well baby, vax, etc. but long gone.
