Making a vaccine appointment and BRO DO NOT GIVE CVS YOUR BIOMETRIC DATA
Uh this is useless, motherfuckers were so busy asking me for my fingerprint they forgot to update their vaccine options, capitalism babee
@kiwi I hate going to corporate pharmacies. They are full of alcohol and sugar treats. Bad for people with diabetes. Even before Covid-19, corporate pharms were making their pharm assistants work while sick, spreading infections among vulnerable people who came for physician prescribed medicines. Now (anecdotal evidence) pharmacy policies or whimsy deny vaccines to people who make appointments but aren’t acceptable when they show up for their vax. They get the packages before >
@kiwi >>con’t. before small pharmacies, who frequently make compounded meds and serve neighborhoods so they know you. Not sure about rural access; in Puget Sound, #corporatepharm, including Safeway, had them immediately, yet ours hadn’t seen them. We made appointments for flu and RSV for tomorrow, hope Covid booster is in then, as they’ll include it, too. In the 90’s, King county had clinics for well baby, vax, etc. but long gone. Big tents by KC and UW for #Covid19, with >>
@kiwi volunteer off duty nurses and students, all “essential” workers. My husband works in medicine: King County used to send staff around to clinical sites like his with flu vax, but budgeting now goes to recruit law enforcement and to cruise ship tourists who actually bring in disease (anecdotal source: Port of Seattle worker). We have excellent #publichealth workers in our county, and state, but their power is waning. #COVID19 #CovidVaccine #corporatepharm
@kiwi I try to remind us that we did have some snippets of #socializedmedicine within living memory, and it’s worth reactivating them before people with institutional experience administering them are gone. Also, I’m glad that #onlineappointments are available, since few practitioners travel to see patients anymore.
