Ok, so here's a compromise halfway between what we have now and the moral position, copyright abolition:

For every fake DMCA takedown by the Copyright Cartel (or abusive ex's, or literal fascists), it should be legal to murder one IP lawyer or Copyright Cartel executive.

here is another stupid talking point for "intellectual property": how else are they gonna make money?

HOW IS THAT MY PROBLEM TO SOLVE? the fact that you can't think of another business model doesn't mean you are allowed to deprive people of their freedom to communicate, create and trade.

your snark and incredulity about commission and donation models do not invalidate our rights, and your lack of imagination beyond them is not our problem.

this is probably the best argumentation for #copyrightAbolition i have ever seen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnnYCJNhw7w

it focuses directly on how creators and customers would benefit, which presumably is the biggest uncertainty people have. if you aren't convinced yet, please watch it. it's really worth it.

been listening to the libertarian-leaning econmics podcast Emergent Order for a bit. it's a bit of a mixed bag, but i'm suprised that even many minarchists seem to be fairly open towards the abolition of #copyright and #patents. Deirdre McCloskey, for example (who is probably as cool as minarchist can get). i feel like this could be a much greater movement, if people would be more vocal about it.
