I really, really wish Mastodon supported importing old posts from an old community server and the old community server responding with HTTP 308 Permanent Redirect for old posts to their new URL because #CoolURIsDontChange.
The Friends of Battye Library redesigned their website, and broke the old URLs. :-(
If you're wondering how links like these work, I've just published the script that I used to re-archive my twitter history into mastodon.
Note, it requires having direct SQL access to the mastodon instance to get the IDs and timestamps right, but the URL vanity is nice.
