Pixel Planet Today turns 4 today! We made a blog post, sent out a newsletter, and of course, a cool illustration that spans the length of the slides for today's post 😊

Pixel Planet Today on Instagram: "In the past four years that I've made these posts (many with the help of some wonderful people), I've learned a lot. I've learned that giant golden-crowned flying foxes have wingspans reaching 5 and a half feet (1.7 meters; Post 941), and that in the late 1800s, there were likely 50,000 grizzly bears in the continental United States (today there are around 2,000; all the way back at Post 20). I've learned more about the effects of climate change (like how your favorite chocolate is quickly becoming a commodity), and some of the incredible ways people are fighting it (like wireless EV chargers being built directly into roads). . I can't say I remember all of the 1,000+ facts that I've covered, but on the other hand, the point of this project isn't just for me to learn things - it's to help you learn things. Climate and environmental education are increasingly becoming some of the most important types of education, yet many of us don't even know what our everyday actions mean for the planet (and ultimately, our own well-being). I love presenting facts about our planet in an approachable, art-based way - something that ideally makes it feel less like 'school' and more like "Let's save that hippo that's made out of squares!" . Which really, brings me to what I'm ultimately wanting to say. Pixel Planet Today wouldn't be here without the amazing support you've all given me. The likes, the comments, the email opens - it may seem like something small, but it ultimately helps Pixel and Terrabyte grow into what I dream they can be. There is truly nothing I'd rather do with my life than help protect our natural planet with design and technology, so thank you for supporting me in making that a reality. ❤️🌎 . 🌎 OTHER THINGS: I took up most of my allotted characters blabbing about how thankful I am, so very quickly: there is a Pixel Day blog post and a newsletter out now, otherwise we'll be with a regular post here soon! . . Graphic shows a park ranger pointing out over a national park, modern city center, and islands. The factoid reads: "Today marks the 4th anniversary of Pixel Planet Today.""
