#Rodriguez Debütalbum #ColdFact erschien im März 1970 und floppte in den USA, wurde aber zum Kult in Australien (Platz 23, 1978) und Südafrika. Bekannteste Songs: "Sugar Man" und "I Wonder". In den 70ern wurden tausende Exemplare in einem New Yorker Lager entdeckt und binnen Wochen in Australien ausverkauft. Produziert von Dennis Coffey in Detroit.

#Detroit based #ColdFact #Psychedelic #folksinger #SixtoRodriguez whose humble life path as a handyman was chronicled in #SearchingForSugarMan doc film passes at age 81. Recorded for #ClarenceAvant's Sussex label in 70's alongside Bill Withers, but vanished for decades until a phoenix like career resurrection in 2012 when poignant film of his obscure mysterious musical career won an Oscar.
