GO! GO! Mister Chickums

One of my favourite indie games so far this year is GO! GO! Mister Chickums, a real love letter to old #Retro Classics like Bubble Bobble & Chuckie egg. You play Mister Chickums, a chicken obviously, and you have to collect all of the eggs in a level, and throw them in the nest to win. Take too long however and the grim reaper will pay you a visit! The game can be played solo or co-op and apart from the egg chucking, there are lots to collect and secret bonus mechanics. What a looks like […]

Now there a blast from my past.

While pong was the first computer game I played (I'm showing my age here), it was #ChuckieEgg that I remember most fondly from my childhood. Sneaking into the school's computer room and booting up the BBC Micro to play a few levels before we got caught and sent packing. 🥚🪿🪜

' "If you put a screenshot of Space Panic next to #ChuckieEgg they're embarrassingly similar," [Nigel Alderton] says. "The colours are identical. I nicked all the bits out of #SpacePanic that I liked as well as other platform and ladders #games." '

… but I remember Space Panic even clearer! One of the immediate hits on a boat trip to Stockholm. Along with the switch in the back of a #SpaceInvaders cabinet that gave infinite games.
