JUSTINE COVAULT

Justine Covault was a well-respected and beloved Boston musician, singer, songwriter, promoter, and founder of Red on Red Records. She was a tireless supporter of the Boston music scene. Her sudden passing on June 8, 2023 left family, friends, and the Boston music community reeling.

She was the singer/guitarist /songwriter for Justine and the Unclean, a Boston band she formed in 2016 with Charles Hansen on guitar, Janet Egan King on bass/backing vocals, and Jim Janota on drums. The band had just released their 3rd album "The Signal Light" on Red on Red on June 2, 2023. Justine founded Red on Red Records in 2020 with the intent to build community, support artists, and promote shows. She eventually had 25 bands on the roster.
