I don’t normally post my WIPs for commissions. But I asked the client for his permission, because it is a great example of the back and forth to get the sketch correctly. In this case, I was commissioned to draw some kind of druidic lich where a sentient system of roots and vegetation have latched on to a skeleton in order to walk. Here are 4 different versions of the sketch. Looking at the progress, it's almost as if it documents the gradual plant growth around the skeleton, which I find amusing. I also tried my best to convey that this is, in fact, a gentle creature, despite the fact that this would be a scary sight for anyone who came across it, while casually wandering into the woods :P #mastoart #art #dnd #ttrpg #charactersesign #sketch #wip #commissions #commissionsopen
