米ケロッグ会長兼CEOのゲイリー・ピルニック氏の生活費のやりくりの大変な家庭は「シリアル（コーンフレーク）を夕食に食べればいい」という発言が大炎上している。億万長者の発言は、フランス女王マリー・アントワネットの有名な「let them eat cake」＝「（パンがないなら）お菓子を食べさせればいいのに」という言葉と比べられ、同じぐらい世間知らずと非難されている。
