This evening I joined a small tour and commemoration at #Westduin cemetery in The Hague.
This is part of a wider Dutch event of placing candles on the graves at allied war cemeteries and of WW2 resistance fighters and victims on Christmas Eve.
Tonight was cold and clear, and a smaller than usual crowd toured the cemetery, learning about the battle at Westduin (when Germany invaded in May 1940), visiting the #Stijkelgroep graves and memorial, and the #CWGC cemetery. #CanadaRemembers #DenHaag

It was an honour to join fellow citizens in paying our respects to the brave men and women who have served, and those who continue to serve, in the Canadian Armed Forces.

We will always remember their sacrifice and dedication to our freedom. Lest we forget. #CanadaRemembers 🇨🇦

There are graves for people who never got to come home and grow old. Remember then today. 🪖 #RemembranceDay #veterans #LestWeForget #CanadaRemembers www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJkF...

Today, we honour and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country. #LestWeForget #CanadaRemembers

Today we remember their bravery, their resilience, and their ultimate sacrifice.

Wear your poppy with pride, and take a moment to reflect on the legacy they have left behind.

Following the 1941-42 NHL season, Canadiens defenceman Ken Reardon joined the Canadian Forces. While serving overseas, he was awarded Field Marshall Montgomery’s Certificate of Merit for several acts of bravery during battle #CanadaRemembers #LestWeForget
In their last NHL game before heading off to serve for Canada in the Second World War, Bruins' Milt Schmidt, Woody Dumart, and Bobby Bauer were carried off the ice by their opponents, a remarkable show of respect and camaraderie #CanadaRemembers #LestWeForget
