Dark honey fungus (Armillaria ostoyae) had specimens that are bigger heavier and much older than a whale. Underground that is. It's fun to read and learn about. The Dutch name is sombere honingzwam.

Deer mushroom (Pluteus cervinus) called gewone hertenzwam in Dutch. You can see how the pinkish gills are not attached to the stem. Thats true for all fungi in the Pleuteus family. Grows on rotting wood - so saprotrophic.

Spindle Shank (Gymnopus fusipes) in Dutch called spoelvoetcollybia. With another funky tiny fungi on top. I would love to see those tiny ones much bigger and know the name.

Calocera viscosa - aka yellow stagshorn or coral jelly in Dutch called kleverig koraalzwammetje. The color makes my heart sing.

And it also makes me think of the horrible news that we have reached a climate tipping point. In the sea there is a widespread death of coral reefs. And they go from all the colors of the rainbow to dead white remains.

This world is worth standing up for, again and again. And feeling my love, joy and connection helps with that.

Groesbeek – Kleef

De Tweede Kamer stemt voor een motie die onderzoek naar heropening van de spoorlijn Nijmegen-Kleef bepleit. Verkiezingstijd dus morgen gratis bier.

Dat is grappig zeg, daar fietste ik dus pas.

Tussen Groesbeek en Kleef ligt het spoor nog maar daar rijden tegenwoordig draisines – fietsen zich over rails kunnen voortbewegen. Tot voor kort had ik het nooit in het echt gezien.
