I worked at Consumers Distributing in the late 80s. I can attest to the insanity. And because they were individual dolls we had to bring out a million different ones until they found the one they wanted. And usually they couldn’t find one they wanted. I think they were SKUd by hair colour so at least we could narrow it down.

Le #bambole #CabbagePatch erano vendute con un certificato di nascita, proprio come bambini veri. Non stupisce quindi che negli anni '80, al culmine della loro popolarità, si sia diffusa questa leggenda:
Una madre distrusse per errore la bambola della figlia. Sperando in una sostituzione, la mandò alla ditta produttrice. Dopo alcuni giorni, ricevette invece un certificato di morte, e un conto per le spese del funerale.
