I have a 1 day streak on Busuu and am about to end my Duolingo streak at over 1100 days. I realize reading what I just wrote that Duolingo gets you to focus more on staying engaged with the app than learning the language(s). I never found a good replacement for Hawaiian from Duolingo, but I got to the point where the lessons were voiced by (bad) text-to-speech, and the phrases were super strange.

Let down by my vocab (quelle surpr—qué sorpresa) and in one case confusing the past participle with the present participle. Not bad given that I knew no Spanish whatsoever this time last year!

I wonder about re-taking the A1 and A2 "exams" (20-30 minute quizes) just to see if I've improved at my basics. I got in the 80-90% range for those at the time too.

I think at this point none of the major players has a real good "free" tier. And some are more restrictive than Duo.

Well, there's #Busuu. The free tier is pretty good, you just can't get the review lessons. Also, there are no speech lessons with Busuu. But there is grammar.

The main thing I don't like about Busuu is that they use low quality, over-compressed audio files. This matters as you get to the higher courses and faster talking. They may be artificial, if that counts as AI.

This morning I finished the A2 #Korean course on #Busuu. That's the highest level it offers atm, so I need to go looking for other resources now.

Does anyone have any recommendations for free resources? E.g. simple texts in Korean, or a simple language podcast. I'll no doubt take up watching K-dramas again 😄

Ne pas vouloir contribuer / utiliser d’IA épisode 8512 : aujourd’hui c’est au tour de l’application Busuu (pour apprendre des langues) de passer à l’IA (du moins je l’apprends ce jour).
Busuu que j’utilisais pour remplacer Duolingo (qui est passé full IA aussi)   
C’est assez exaspérant, d’avoir l’impression de pas pouvoir y couper quoi qu’on fasse…

People that complain about #Duolingo on theoretical grounds, haven't tried other apps.

Here's a form in #Busuu. My finger wavered when I picked up a letter and now it is gone. I can't complete the question which also means I can't complete the quiz.

This is really careless programming and it's the 2nd time it's happened in two weeks.

And they make it so hard to report this stuff. I would have to take an hour to do the report.
