#Stanesby and his father, along with Peter #Bressan, were the finest makers of #recorders and #flutes in England at this period. This alto recorder in F' is stamped "STANESBY/IUNIOR/F," and has a flutelike foot joint, perhaps in response to the growing popularity of the transverse flute by the 1720s.

Back to the classics tonight: 2015 Bressan Ego. Controversial producer, but damn can be make a great bottle of wine!

Very aromatic, immediately hitting you with pepper, rosemary and thyme. On the palate it retains the peppery and herbal flavors, with beautifully balanced acidity and tannins that are extremely elegant for a Schiopettino. Long, satisfying finish too. Wonderful, wonderful wine!
