So I may be a little behind on this, but I wondered where #Braille Access mode in #iOS & #Mac stores BRF files. I created a test one to find out and found the folder in iCloud Drive. Now that it’s there, I can put other BRF files in it and read them easily with my connected braille display – no having to offload to the display itself. Quite useful. #BrailleAccess FTW
Okay, folks. regarding #BrailleAccess in #iOS26. There have been a few folks who could not get toggling Braille Input to work with Vo+y, me included. One of them was a mantis user. Anyway, being that vo+y was mentioned as the Braille Input toggle key, we ended up forcing it to work, by going into voiceover settings,, commands, all commands, and looking for Toggle Braille Input. Double-tap on that and press y on your bt keyboard. then double tap on done. Now assigned.
Okay, was working with #BrailleAccess in iOS26. For the hell of it, I was going to test #LiveCaption. However, when I try bringing it up, using my Humanware #NLSEReader, I get the following:
Unsupported language or region.
Hmmmm! Is it an issue with the NLS eReader or does this only work with certain Braille displays? It should not make a difference which Braille table I'm using, and this is in English, and of course, we're in the USA. So, ...

New kinda feature in iOS 26 tta 4 or 5 or 50 or whatever. Braille Access widget (yes, we'll call it a widget), typing an app's name until no alternatives will open that app instead of show one item in list.

Okay, I'm still kind of trying to figure out the purpose of #BrailleAccess in #iOS26, especially for braille displays that already have a built-in notetaker, BRF reader, and calculator. I can see it however for those of us with NLS eReaders, since we don't have a note taker in em. Not poo-pooing, just trying to understand this particular paradigm.
