Om 14 dagar är det Gunnes gårds höstmarknad och idag har jag testat lite olika sätt att visa upp min slöjd. Det är första gången jag har ett helt eget marknadsstånd så möjligheterna är ju helt plötsligt oändliga.

Och när jag ändå är igång kan jag ju passa på att visa er några av de borstar jag gjort på sistone och ska ha med mig.

Så nöjd med den här idén av att hänga dem på en ställning som egentligen är ett växtstöd, så den får följa med till marknaden.

Men borstarna då? Jo, jag är nöjd med dem också, så de får också följa med.

In 14 days, it’s time for Gunnes Gård’s autumn market, and today I’ve been testing out different ways to showcase my crafts. It’s the first time I’ll have my very own market stall, so suddenly the possibilities feel endless.

And while I’m at it, I might as well show you some of the brushes I’ve made recently and will be bringing along.

I’m so pleased with this idea of hanging them on a stand that’s actually a plant support — so that’s coming with me to the market too.

And the brushes? Well, I’m happy with those as well, so they’re definitely coming along.

Borsten som jag band i veckan gav mersmak, och nu har jag testat det nya lingarnet också!
Fungerade som synes finfint! Jag gillar verkligen den rustika känslan som linet ger, så glad att jag testade, och att jag har flera färger av det i min pyssellåda.

The brrm i made last week gave me an urge to do more and now i also tested the new linen yarn i blought earlier this summer.
As shown, it worked well. I realy like the rustic feeling that the linen gives (as the opposite of colorfull nylon cord i used before.) So i'm happy i gave it a chance and also that i have other colors of the linen in my basket.

Jag höll ju nästan på att glömma! Samma vän som fick brandfilten fick ju faktiskt en handborste också! Handgjord så klart! Tekniken satt i efter kursen jag gick i februari, tråden lät som en fiolsträng när jag band den, och jag måste verkligen säga att jag tycker om att göra borstar också. Men det kräver lite koncentration och tvärtemot broderiet går det inte att släppa taget mitt i, då får man backa en bra bit och börja om med nya tag. Men vad gör det, det är ändå ett roligt hantverk som jag kommer att jobba vidare med.

I almost forgot! The same friend who got the fire blanket actually received a hand brush too! Handmade, of course! The thread sounded like a violin string when I tied, without breaking so i guess the technique stuck with me after the course I took in February. I really must say i'm happy it did, I really enjoyed making the brush as well. But it does require a bit of concentration, and unlike embroidery, you can’t just let go in the middle of it; if you do, you have to backtrack quite a bit and start again with fresh energy. But that’s okay—it’s still a fun craft that I intend to keep doing.

Jag köpte hem lite material till borstar efter workshopen på Syfestivalen.
Här är första borsten som jag gjort hemma, på helt egen hand. Tråden lät som en fiolsträng (eller typ, den sjöng men förstås inte med samma klang) när jag band den. Det var så roligt att binda den! Nu har jag dessutom skaffat en speciell avbitare för att skära av toppen på den, mycket enklare än med en sax eller kniv hur kraftiga och vassa de än är.

Just den här borsten blev en liten födelsedagspresent till en god vän.

I bought some material for brooms after the workshop at the Sew and craft fair i was in a couple of weeks ago.
Here is the first broom that i did at home, all by my self. The cord sounded like a violin (kind of, it sang but ofc not as beautiful) when i made the broom. It was so fun to do it again! And now i actually got myself a special tool for cutting the top, much easier than with a scissor or knife, how sharp they ever are.

This particular broom became a birthday present for a good friend.
