Antigens and blood compatibility tests

There are many types of antigens (twenty for red blood cells alone).
Antigens that belong to the same category form what we call a blood group.
Several classifications of blood groups are known, but not all have the same importance for transfusion.
The compatibility analysis for the same group is carried out taking into account only two categories of antigens, the so-called ABO and Rhesus systems.
