This week’s Three Tune Tuesday marches through Sousa — from patriotic spectacle to institutional loyalty to full-on absurdity. What were marches meant to do? And what do they mean now?

Three tunes. One theme: Disobedient Women.
Rebecca went to Mecca and came back barer than Theda Bara.
Eva Tanguay didn’t care—and shouted it.
Ma Rainey wore a tie and dared you to “prove it.”
This week on Three Tune Tuesday, we break rules, records, and a 1925 cutoff.
Satire, song, laughter—and just a touch of chaos.

This week was a difficult one for me. The bullshittery of the current day, along with being hit by an episodic bout of depression, left me in a particularly nihilistic and helpless mood over the weekend.
I took that and turned it into this week's Three Tune Tuesday podcast: "The Quiet Rebellion of Holding On".
I'm pissed that any level of politics can effect me in such a way and make me want to leave the country that I chose to move to and live in. I'm pissed that some orange buffoon and his armada of flying monkeys can cause me to sink into a depressive fit. Fuck him. #fucktrump .
Regardless, I'm hopeful I was able to turn this into a positive. If you like really old, pre-1925 music recorded on shellac at 78rpm, I invite you to go have a listen.
This week's Three Tune Tuesday podcast is now live! Come listen as Yulia and Boneapart discuss the time honoured American tradition of defiance! Of course, we're also sharing three classic 78rpm tunes as well.

Tyrants always forget: the people sing.

We’re still singing now.
