"It's Only Make Believe" is a song written by drummer Jack Nance and Mississippi-born singer #ConwayTwitty, while they were touring across Ontario, Canada, in 1958. Twitty was a relatively unknown #rockNRoll singer at the time, and this song was his first hit, reaching No. 1 on the #Billboard chart in November 1958 for two weeks. The song has been covered by a number of artists, including #BillyFury, #Child, and #RonnieMcDowell.

WARNING: Boring photos. West Hampstead - Rock'n'Roll mecca. 1. The Railway. In the 1960s this pub hosted the Klooks Kleek jazz and blues club. Live albums were recorded here by Cream, John Mayall and Ten Years After, among others. 2. Billy Fury Way. Though Billy Fury (1940-1983) was from Liverpool, he made many of his recordings at the nearby Decca Studios. While it may have been fitting to memorialise him in some manner, giving his name to a filthy and menacing alleyway seems like a mistake. The black painted wall once displayed a portrait, but it was soon vandalised. The other end of the alley, on Finchley Road, is even grimmer. And what's between isn't exactly the garden of Eden.[:::Insert joke about half way to paradise:::]
Note: Yesterday some of West End Lane was closed to motor traffic, partly to honour World No Car Day, and partly to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the successful campaign to prevent West Hampstead being buried under a 12 lane ring road, two large intersections, and an extension of the M1. #klookskleek #westhampstead #billyfury #boringphoto
