When the world is upside down and backwards, our ‘leaders’ are literally trying to eliminate us and our neighbours betray us, birdwatching really is my happy place.

My passion project Project Hawk, is part journal, photo album and historical record of a family of Swainson’s Hawks in Calgary, Alberta. 2026 is my 10th consecutive year of documenting this family in my almost literal backyard and I’m happy to report that our Matriarch Swainson’s Hawk has returned to the ‘hood!
