On this #EarthDay I'll say something that will piss off a lot of "environmentalists" as usual.
We owe a tremendous debt to Michael Bloomberg. He's probably the individual that has done more to reduce greenhouse gas emissions than any other by funding the #BeyondCoal initiative.
I point that out just to try to moderate some of the extremism that is hampering us from getting a faster transition to net-zero emissions.
The global transition away from coal is gathering steam, but is still not fast enough to align with a 1.5C pathway - even with pledges.
