This off-white sateen jacket I just finished features a rather rare type of waist adjusters, consisting of folded loops made on a beltloop machine. Copper King and maybe a few other brands used this type on their jackets in the 1950s-70s. The buttons are plastic "cat eye" buttons to prevent scratching car seats or furniture.

1950s Walker's Round Up Rider Pants
The belt loops on this pair are the widest of any jeans I own -- about 19 mm!
A comparison with the belt loops on a pair of Levi's 501s (last photo) shows just how wide that is.

1970s Lee 200Z and Copper King 99Z comparison
One feature that is unmistakably characteristic of Lee jeans (left pic) is the position of the belt loops sewn right on top of the side seams. This detail is identical on the Copper King pair (right pic), illustrating again that these were made by Lee on the same production line.
On a side note, the belt loops on the Lee pair are made of a different denim from the rest of the jeans (pic 2), which is not at all uncommon with Lee. It doesn't show well in the photo, but the belt loops are made of vat-dyed denim, while everything else is made of rope-dyed denim. This was unnoticeable when they were raw, but has become increasingly clear with aging.
Another trivial detail is that one of the belt loops was cut right on the selvedge of the denim.

The second S-111 pair I made at the same time as the pair in the previous post. The belt loops on this pair are the opposite; the one on the right is offset and sewn onto the front pocket, while the one on the left is in the usual position. This pair is still raw -- I'll start wearing these when the other pair starts falling to pieces.

A rather rare detail on this S-111 pair I made last October. The belt loop on the left is offset and sewn onto the front pocket. The one on the right is in the usual position.
