#android OS has a nice function which you can use to lock apps. Then you need to enter your pin or biometrics before using this.

This may be kind of a security bonus. Personally, I use it a lot more as an impulse control feature. There are some apps I tend to open, then either start doom scrolling, mindlessly browsing or even check or work related channels in my off time.
