When I was 18, I was an activities counselor at a provincial park. One day, I noticed one of the kids breaking out in measles. I immediately packed up a bunch of games and puzzles and walked him back to his campsite.

His mother was FURIOUS that I had ruined her vacation. She tried to have me fired for not keeping a sick, infectious child around all the other kids when she just wanted to stay in her trailer and day drink or something. Fortunately, my boss was on my side with this and I was praised for my quick thinking. I felt really bad for the kid who needed rest and medical attention. This reminds me precisely of how things went when I came out as gay and kinky to my parents over ten years ago.

I'd imagine if my grandmother were alive, she would probably never want to see me if I came out as a gay kinky pagan pursuing witchcraft considering how much of a fuss she made when two of her children married Lutherans and one of them eloped.
