Hi! My name is Marie Howalt, and I just joined the Fediverse. 💚
I write queer and cozy-ish science fiction books, usually with the rep I think the world needs more of, including characters with disabilities, mental illness and of various neurotypes. My traditionally published books are the Moonless trilogy and the Colibri Investigations series (pic 1). My next book is a sci-fi Sherlock Holmes retelling called A Study in Black Brew (pic 3; design by Miblart).
I have a master’s degree in English studies and religion from the University of Copenhagen and used to work as a translator and a teacher, but I had to give up on that due to chronic illness (post concussion syndrome).
Now I work part time selling art supplies and fountain pens and sometimes restoring antique pens, which coincides well with the fact that I write all my notes with a fountain pen.
I live in Denmark with a small gang of cats (Reid, Dandy and Oscar), have a music playlist for every mood and every story, and I listen to a lot of audiobooks during my daily mandatory downtime (yes, listening to audiobooks is reading).
What you will find most of in my corner of Pixelfed: Photos of notebooks, fountain pens and books (by others and myself occasionally). The might be a cat picture, a drawing I made or a selfie of me pretending to be cool (pic 2) once in a while too.
Thank you for dropping by! I’m looking forward to getting the hang of this platform.
