About once a week I get messages of support for #auscost, and an increasing number of requests for access to the data I'm scraping from #colesworth. I would like to copy the API implementation from another similar project but I haven't yet found the time.
The cost of running #auscost is low, but increasing with its popularity. It would be nice if this side project could stay free to use and be self-sustaining.

Huzzah! As of last night #auscost now also logs grocery prices from #coles . I'm doing a staged rollout, so I'm only monitoring about half the product categories. Nothing has caught fire yet!

Today I implemented a table that shows recent changes in grocery prices! It's now slightly cheaper to buy low carb pancake & pikelet mix, if you were wondering.
This feature has been on my backlog for a while. Next up is pulling data from Coles too.

This project provides data to help save money on grocery shopping, and hold #colesworth to account for steadily increasing prices.
There's wet paint on it, but the key stuff is in: Logging prices on a lot of products and the ability to create and share your own plots of prices over time.
