Follies with having an adventure game on a second-generation console (the Astrocade) continue, with Treasures of Cathy by the same author as Bally's Alley. Now with graphics! And a creative solution to creating multiple rooms I've never seen before!
All the Adventures goes where it has never gone before: one of the second-generation consoles! Specifically the Bally Astrocade, which had a homebrew scene thanks to BASIC and its tape drive. Even without a keyboard someone really wanted to write an adventure game. It only was rescued from source two years ago, and parts of it are seen here for the first time:
I have three game consoles that all need maintenance, so I can start FujiNet bring-ups on each. I have cerebral palsy, otherwise, I would just do all of the repair work, myself.
#Intellivision needs composite mod. Attached picture is as good of a picture as I can get out of either modulator position.
#Atari2600 needs fixing the composite mod. Attached picture is as good of a picture as I get out of it.
Bally #Astrocade is intermittently powering on due to faulty connection to power board.
If anyone can help, please message me. -Thom
Hello all, I'm from the #FujiNet project, #ESP32 based, which aims to put a WiFi network adapter on every #retrocomputing and #retrogaming platform.
With this device, we can not only stream software to our favorite vintage computing devices, but we can also engage in cross platform gaming and other software.
We are trying to maximize our reach by working through a generic 8-bit parallel bus protocol that could be used on anything with a card edge; to use an #RP2040 as a bus front-end. This way, we could reach #TRS80 #IBMPC #NES #SMS #Intellivision #Atari2600 #MSX #S100 #PC88 #PC98 #Astrocade and so much more.
