That way I had proof of their intentions to scam me out of money & I could report their messages to WhatsApp. I have no idea if WhatsApp actually will do anything about it tbh but the satisfaction of knowing the truth is enough for me. Thank god I was only talking to this person for a few weeks so I didn’t get very attached. Considering my several months long catfish situation five years ago though I feel sick to my stomach. That person never asked me for money but they definitely lied about who they were. This reopens some old wounds for sure. That incident back then was some of the worst pain I’d ever felt. I swear it felt like physical pain as well. I just wanna be loved. People who prey on those who are lonely (and typically insecure/and/or unattractive & not getting any,) are the most cowardly, disgusting monsters. Catfish and romance scammers should all be punished. Sadly only the latter can get you into legal trouble.
