Anti-LLM software projects, especially those that are open source, and either put their code only on github, or have a presence on codeberg (or other Anti-LLM code repository software/site) but refuse to take issues there are making really incongruent choices which should probably be rethought as soon as possible.

The reason those choices are incongruent is because Github is run by Microsoft's 'AI' division and so likes to both push copilot (its LLM for 'vibe' coding built into github) and suck up all the open source code it can which then may violate the gpl as anything output by an LLM is uncopyrightable in some juristictions.

The reason why not allowing issues on codeberg is incongruent is because then those who do not wish to be on github, and have therefore closed their account there to move to Anti-LLM sites/software instead are then unable to help with projects.

This is a really strange choice, if a project is going to have a presence somewhere why not let users interact with it there too and garner more good will and gain more help with it?

In light of recent #antigithub #SFC campaign I read @aral article. https://ar.al/2019/01/11/i-was-wrong-about-google-and-facebook-theres-nothing-wrong-with-them-so-say-we-all/

And i think it 's time :
1) to open the discussion regarding the ethics regarding donations for a libresoftware organism
2) to wonder how just was canceling #RMS who was used as a scapegoat in a mit-sponsors scandal of epic proportions from organization that at the same time were giving us the green light to be friendly and inclusive to multinationals and not to steady and alarming voices.

I was wrong about Google and Facebook: there’s nothing wrong with them (so say we all)

It’s always difficult admitting you’re wrong. But sometimes, it’s exactly what you have to do in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. So, today, I admit that I was wrong about Google, Facebook, and surveillance capitalism in general being toxic for our human rights and democracy. You see, it simply cannot be true given how they are endorsed by some of the most well-respected groups and organisations in the world.
