The anthemion at the top of one of the terminal pavilions of Alexander 'Greek' Thomson's 1860s Grecian Chambers on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. While it looks relatively delicate from the front, from the back (see yesterday's photo), it's surprisingly robust.
