I just realised I didn't post an update in this thread. So my budget-friendly porch canopy is up and running!

It is made from a cheap camping awning and a couple of hooks under the house roof.

I can drink coffee outside now, even in the rain. Also, we often have breakfast outside. Also, it is now a summer art studio for my wife and a workplace for me. I think it would be the most used space this summer.

Not overly visible here, but gets its name from dark streaks on its forewing said to resemble scorched wood. But it is certainly a fine twig mimic!
