I know I shouldn't do it, but here we are. I keep far too much important information inside of the email system. I get it, it's for transportation, but it's also a great (see: No, not great) storage system too.

Anywho; I almost panicked today when I fired up Thunderbird to find my inbox only showed 8 items in it.

Quick filter isn't on, nothing in the deleted folder, no recent archives, no recent snapshot to roll back to. fuck, Fuck, FUCK. Where did my thousands of emails go?

Then it dawned on me.
This new #Thunderbird (115) added a new toolbar (Sorry, #Mozilla but the #115 UI changes are hot garbage). Somehow I had clicked "View -> Unread" a setting which does not seem to exist under the normal "View" menu structure.

No warning when browsing the folder (e.g. "Viewing Unread" etc. Even Outlook makes it blatant when you're in an Unread only view.

But I too am an idiot from time to time. Anyone who claims perfection, double so.
